Store FAQ
Does organic cotton shrink?
All cotton naturally shrinks when washed. Most of our items are not pre-shrunk; however, they are cut larger to allow for shrinkage. When washed and dried according to instructions, (cold water wash on gentle cycle and line dry or tumble dry low), our organic cotton items will shrink to the size that is advertised. If care instructions are not followed additional shrinkage will occur.
Do I need to have an account before I place an order?
No. But having a user account allows you to view your order history, check shipment status, and make future purchases without having to type your address each time. For security purposes we do not store any credit card information.
I received the sizes I ordered but they look bigger than what the labels read. Why?
There is a limitation on the amount of processing and handling a garment can endure before it is no longer considered organic. In order to be completely compliant and remain 100% certified, our clothing line receives little to no washing during the manufacturing and dyeing processes. For that reason, our garments are generously cut and will shrink to the label size with cold washing and low drying.
Use our size chart for help with other sizing questions.
Do organic fabrics look or feel different than processed non-organic ones?
Yes. As far as appearance goes, our organic materials remain unbleached (even before dyeing) and occasionally contain tiny slubs in the weave. These naturally-occurring "imperfections" are part of the organic aesthetic and are completely intentional. Other qualities like raw edges, contrast stitching and patch embellishments may vary slightly from piece to piece.
With regards to feel, traditionally manufactured clothing receives constant washing with chemical softeners and rinses. Our organic clothing receives little to no washing and is virtually chemical and toxin-free. So while you may find our clothes a tad stiff when they first arrive, following the care instruction should soften them up just fine.
